a hard know to think.

comcast sucks, but there's a happy ending.

I just called Comcast. Still no multiple IP addresses allowed, even though their website FAQ says:

My account has multiple IP addresses. Do I need to take any special steps?
No. These will be generated automatically for your new account. Be assured that you will have the same number of IPs on your new account as you had on your previous one.

I can't believe that one company can suck so bad and so hard. Comcast couldn't automatically generate my ass. My second IP address (the one going to MY computer, not my roommate's) hasn't worked since before they switched off the Excite @Home servers. Each person I speak to is dumber than the former. This one told me someone in tech support told her to tell me to buy a router as a "temporary fix" for the problem.

Finally I asked if I could speak to someone in Tech Support. They gave me a separate number for direct access to Tech Support (the woman I spoke to in my local office couldn't even transfer me herself), and this is key: 888-793-9800.

So, after 11 calls to Comcast since January 7th, I spoke charmingly to Tom in Tech Support, somewhere in Michigan, and he said he'll add the second address, no problem. No Problem. 48-72 hours, $6.95/month, don't tell anybody. He also said he'll be over for dinner.

Since Comcast has taken over AT&T we've had a huge rate hike and no better service. They also cancelled my annual prepaid subscription so that they could suck more money out of my account-unfair business practice in my opinion
maybe commiecast is a better suited name for these schmucks

Yeah, the huge monopoly for cable in Fresno has been sold to another monopoly. They are raising our cable internet rate from 45.99 to 55.99 for no apparent reason. I called to cancel and they transferred me to a supervisor who offered me 33% off my next three months. I agreed because the transition to Yahoo DSL ($35/month) will take a bit of time.

EVERYONE SHOULD BE PISSED THAT MONOPOLIES EXIST IN OUR GREAT COUNTRY.

In Reply to “Comcast Sucks”

Well I have an interesting story:

So finally Wide Open West (www.wideopenwest.com) has come to my area (michigan), my girlfriend has the service and the digital box is a lot faster switching through the tv guide and she has never lost service and one bill for cable and Internet (wow what a concept) so I checked out there web page. I am now paying $75 a month for two digital boxes and the mid-level internet service with only $20 in installation fees (a savings of around $45).

So what do I do now?????? Well, I savor the phone call I am about to make to Comcast: Ruby (really a quite friendly comcast person)asked "why I'm switching?" my answer: "Ruby, do not take this the wrong way I like you, but I HATE Comcast", her response: "Well its certainly not the first time I have heard that, how about I lower your monthly Bill to $80 a month for Cable and Internet?", my response "Ruby, do not take this the wrong way, I like you but I HATE Comcast, I am done".

So the next call I make to my brother to tell him what I did. Wide open west is not available in his area but he still called and threatened to switch and they lowered his bill by $30 a month. So if you get nothing from this message at least call comcast and threaten them with a switch (to another provider or the Dish).

(I am in no way associated with WOW, I am just one of the many that hates comcast)

Comcast SUCKS bigtime. It has been a nightmare since I had Comcast Internet installed. Nothing but problems and NO ONE knows how to fix or not to mention troubleshoot a problem. I could write a novel with all the shit I have been through. The sad thing is that they don'y give a shit if you cancel the service. Its a sad day in this country that everything winds up being a goat fuck.

Back in December 2002, I switched from DirecTV to Comcast Digital Cable (formerly AT & T) and the contractor came and installed the cable on December 15th. During the installation, the contractor broke the sheetrock ceiling in my bathroom. He immediately called for a supervisor to come and assess the damage and to arrange for the repairs. Before he left, I was told that a supervisor would be at my house before 5 PM that same evening. No one showed.

After repeated phone calls trying to get someone to come to my house, I was finally able to get a supervisor to come and look at the damage on December 30th. He told me that someone would be at my house to repair the damage on January 4th, 2003. Although I waited at home all day, no one showed, no one called. First thing, Monday morning, I called to find out what had happened and was told that I would be called by a supervisor later that day. To ensure that the caller would get me, no matter where my location, I gave them my cell phone number and said that any calls to me were to come to that number. Again, no one called me on either my cell phone or my home number both of which have caller ID and voice mail.

Since that time, I have called every week. I have spoken to numerous supervisors and managers and have been told by each in turn that someone would call me back to make the arrangements to repair my bathroom ceiling. Finally, on Wednesday April 23rd, I spoke with yet another supervisor and arranged to have someone come to my home at 10 AM on Saturday, April 26th. Needless to say, after waiting around all day, no one arrived and no one called.

For me, that was the last straw. As of this morning, I am no longer a Comcast customer. I called this morning and was transferred to yet another manager, a David Cope. Mr. Cope was very polite and apologetic and he and I were able to make arrangements that would resolve the matter once and for all. I am far from satisfied, but at least I will no longer have to deal with Comcast, and that alone is worth its weight in gold.

please do away with all the info features on the music page, and only POP-UP onscreen menus when i PRESS THE -info-BUTTON !!! please please, i only buy this to get away from the adds, i will cancel my subscription soon probably due to all your newer systems menus that keep changing every 6 months

its getting worse than ever,
when i first got this it was bearable, the info button was pressed and violla a small box appears with info, in the background i can still see the show/program/movie and minimalistic.
now
the whole screeen is a menu, and a BROWN! background appeared when i hit info button, now its every time, not just a little box with the show/program in the background, but now your also poping up a menu during every song and adding useless info on artists that arent even playing at all, and worse you DID AWAY with the last artist feature in the dmx ...argh why..why?
whats up with the extra commercial boxes in the Brown background?
honestly, you really need 3 added comercials during my exploreing in what else may be playing, i now have to ignore what it says . this is public commercialism that i pay to not look at.
dont you realize that if you give me what i dont want i WILL NOT want it AT ALL..!
so please start with repairing a quality cable menu and maybe youll get huge.
keep up the garbage and youll be in it ..

Holy shit this is unreal! I thought maybe I was the only one who was experiencing problems with our forced changeover. Im so upset I could puke breathe fire, scream ,and still need counseling from the conversations with the idiots.
I tried online support , had to download their gustopo propaganda first of course. then either auto bots with no database were at the other end or the graveyard dummies that comcast might pay 7$ hour to feed diversions. And all i wanted was my password to be reset since calling on june 30 2003 and waiting over an hour listening to the its so easy bitch recording telling me to dowload the transistion wiz ... if i wanted a transistion wizard i would have done so from the upsetting email telling me i had too. Of course i read the agreement which led me to the conclusion that it was a transition trojan to allow remote access to my computer, and also stated that they could come in my house anytime to check what equipment i was using. I knew then back in april or may this was going to get crazy.
so i havnt even read any posts yet but will. I was so mad after the crazy chat with the idiots they discontinued my chat because i called them idiots, and my problem still exists, I cant check my email anymore. So if someone emails me realize i might not have access to my own email that im paying 50$a month for in which theyve raised the price and cut back on features that att provided, not to mention capping my bandwidth to nearly dial up speed. I was getting 1.5mbs to 3.5mbs constant with att no problems ever and ip address frequently changed too which i liked.Since comcast took over my max baud rate has only topped 600kbs. sickening rate when used to near t1 or isdn rate i was getting for over a year. I hate comcast and im going to get past the wall of dummies to talk to whoever will listen and then im cancelling .. I only hope dsl with bellsouth here in atlanta, ga. is going to satisfy me, and if not im moving somewhere where cable broadband is not capped and sold like cut drugs on the street, where the customer still matters, cause i see that is not the case with comcast. they prob spent all their money on advertising or maybe they are violating fcc rules and showing us their propaganda over our cable modems to jump to our cable tvs,!!!
I still have my free email with lycos if anyone has any suggestions mcm27@lycos.com
good luck and thanks for allowing me to tell a bit..Michael

My cousin worked for Comcast. She told me they had employees adding analog boxes to people's accounts for no apparent reason. And then, if a customer noticed they were getting charged for a box they didn't have, Comcast would just tell them that their boxes are their responsibilies. Basically, if they ever cancelled and had to return the boxes, they would get charged for the missing box.
When my cousin told me this, I was surprised. I knew Comcast was evil, but not that evil.

Posted by: Lovey N on 12 Aug 2003 at 5:15 PM

Oh they're more evil than that.

Try going to work for them.

I was with them for 4 months. The first 2 were for tech school. The understanding was after 1 more month on the floor we would all be made full-status employees.

NOT TRUE

I personally walked 1/2 up a road with 2" of ice on it, commuted 1 1/2 hours EACH way, worked 20 hours OT regularly, and basically busted my buns for Comast for another TWO months after training only to be told via a phone call on my machine
that my services were no longer needed. I wasn't the only one in fact they fired most of my class that day, in the same inexcusable fashion.

They didn't even have the DECENCY to fire us on Friday and tell us directly, OH NO, they just let us come to eork on Saturday and work through a MAJOR outage of all their areas and THEN fired us when we returned home from working the day from HELL.

I didn't eat for the entire day, and I barely was able to go to the bathroom...

10 hours of utterly pissed customers, and I come home to get fired via MACHINE?

I later on found out that this was typical Comcast. Hire a bunch of temps, promise them the moon, work them like dogs till you have to hire them, then can them just before...

They recently took over my local cable company. I dropped the service faster than you can read this. So now I've got "come back" flyers in my mailbox as nauseum.

FAT CHANCE.

I'm sending them all back marked "return to sender" so Comcast can have the privilege of paying the postage...

They couldn't PAY ME to watch them...

I am overwhelmed with how many sites are dedicated to hating Comcast...I had no idea anyone could hate them as much as me. They have never once billed me correctly. The story is long and I wont bore anyone..it goes from my old house to my new. I have spoken to 24 different peole. Some have promised to fix it, some have claimed to fix, many can not figure out where to start. I have been denied a supervisor multiple times and I have been hung up on. On one occasion I was so overwhelmed I burst into tears - they hung up on me.
